Riding in Ol Pejeta plus Masai Mara 4x4 Safari

Tharua's latest itinerary consists of a few days at Tharua, the rest travelling through the beautiful Rift Valley then moving on to the Masai Mara.
A min of 4 people is required for this safari to run.

DAY 1
Arrive Nairobi am. Transfer by road to Tharua, driving through the beautiful Kikuyu Highlands, arriving in time for lunch. Relax and unpack ready for sundowners and supper in the roundhouse. Flying transfers to a nearby airstrip are also available at a cost of £80 per person.

DAY 2.
Relax and enjoy a day at the farm. Early risers can watch the sun rise over the mountain, go for a walk or lie in and spend a leisurely day around the farm. A short ride to get accustomed to your horse and find some local game.

DAY 3.
Visit to Nyakio Primary School which your holiday is helping to support. We have already built 8 new classrooms, and a new kitchen, with help from friends and guests. We also have 12 children sponsored for secondary school.

DAY 4.
Riding in the beautiful surroundings of Ol Pejeta Conservancy. 3 hours of riding to find our private campsite among the yellow thorn trees on the Ngobit river, a chance to see all the game from the back of a horse in the quiet and tranquillity.

DAY 5.
Riding or a relaxing morning around the camp, its up to you, we vary the times to suit your needs. Early morning and evening game drives in the 4x4 are also an option. The campsite is very comfortable for a relaxing afternoon.

DAY 6.
After breakfast we break camp and ride for the morning and back to Tharua in time for lunch and a relaxing swim. The ride back is leisurely and gives you the chance to see more game on horse back.

DAY 7.
A day to rest and relax around the pool. A trip to the local town for some shopping is also available, this is an experience you will remember for years to come!!.

DAY 8.
Drive to the beautiful Lake Bogoria where thousands of Flamingo gather. Around the lake there are hot springs with many geysers. It’s also a change to see the Greater Kudu. The evening is spent camping beside the lake.

DAY 9.
Leave after breakfast for Kenana Farm and stay in their comfortable cottages.

DAY 10/11/12.
Drive over the Mau Escarpment to the Masai Mara game reserve, camping beside the Mara River. You will get to spend 3 days enjoying this stunning landscape where big cats are in abundance. People joining us between July & September get to experience the annual migration.

DAY 13.
Drive back to Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley and and camp among the giraffe at Sanctuary Farm.

DAY 14.
Return to Nairobi. We leave this open due to variation in flight times, but rest assured we won’t let you get bored.
